Several types of droid chassis were playable in the original games. There is no reason to believe the MMO will not continue this trend.
Just as "meatbag" humans upgrade their skills, armor, and weaponry a player-droid could upgrade its chassis, programming, armor, and weaponry to fit a variety of roles.
There has been no confirmation of droids as a playable-class, though given the game's history, it would not be unexpected.
